In October, Little Red Bird Animal Sanctuary, rescued 300+ battery hens in southern California. An egg farm was downsizing and they stepped in to save these girls. It was a massive undertaking for them to transport them to safety and get the the medical care they needed. They are now in a spacious quarantine and are safe! However, Little Red Bird sits on just an acre and is already home to 100 animals, so they are seeking placement for these abused and neglected hens. The good people at Little Red Bird reached out to us last week and we've offered to take in a dozen of these 18 month old White Leghorns.
WE NEED YOUR HELP! We need to raise about $1,000.00 to build them a warm, safe coop and a temporary run for them to graze and stretch their wings. Donations will also provide feed ($45/mo.), bedding ($10/mo.), treats ($15/mo), any medical care that arises and/or their permanent run that will need constructed in the spring of 2017.
These girls will be transported up here sometime in mid December, so we need to raise the funds quickly and get the coop ready for their arrival! So please donate whatever amount you can to help us! We couldn't continue to rescue chickens in need without your help! These girls need a 'safe place to land', and are extremely deserving after all they've suffered through in their short lives. Let's do this!! We launched a new Go Fund Me campaign but you can also click Donate on our main page and contribute through PayPal, into our newly opened business account!
Thank you in advance for any amount you can give to save these girls! Having the support of our donors means the world to us!
